Strike 's high energy drumming has wowed, entertained, moved, surprised and impressed audiences in New Zealand and around the world.
Showcasing live favourites and tracks from their brand new album, Strike’s Sound System features the exhilaration of live percussionists who beat, bang, hammer and cajole a range of traditional and custom-made instruments into life in an exciting concert.
Pacific, classical and contemporary musical influences, combined with a movement and theatre-based presentation, make Strike unique in the world of percussion music. Murray Hickman, Leni Sulusi, Sam Minns, Olivier Ballaster, Sonja Harding and Takumi Motokawa, plus vocalists Lisa Tomlins and Margot Pierard, joined on stage by the participants in the day’s workshops.
