Tripod Music presents an amazing line-up of Reggae sounds to Wanderers Club at The Mangere Bridge Tavern. Friday 9th of July will see The Midnights & Box Juice take the stage.
The Midnights began ‘back in the day’ when a group of friends who had met at Wellington High School one by one made their way up to Auckland. Used to jamming together, the group realised they shared a distinct taste in blues, jazz, soul and roots reggae. By 2002, the core of the band met the other key players in the Midnights sound and settled into serious wood-shedding to develop their music.
After giving their first performance at the ‘Dogs Bollix’ in late 2002 the group quickly rose from playing the notorious local haunts to the local festivals and eventually travelling the country to perform, spread the word and sharpen their live sound at a number of festivals and events.
These events include the Alpine Unity Festival, Wellingtons Cuba St Carnival, Orientation events throughout the North Island and three years solid at the legendary Raglan Reggae Festival. As for the future, the Midnights want to continue to develop their sound into something unique to their place and time, to release some killer music and travel the world sharing their sound.

If you had asked anyone if they’d heard about the reggae band, Box Juice a year ago, almost everybody would say no.
Well, things are a slightly different now after the band released its debut album, ‘One Heart Many Lives’ in July at the Atamira-Maori in the City event at Auckland’s Greenland Expo centre where they performed alongside House of Shem and Nesian Mystik.
