Bowen Galleries invite you to view two new works by Robyn Kahukiwa: Power to Define and Resistance/Te Tohenga, on display from 18 January - 6 February 2010.
"Colonisation functions on the physical, psychic, spiritual and political levels. In my paintings 'Resistance/Te Tohenga' and 'Power to Define' I have attempted to portray these levels. I use characters I created in previous works, add new ones and place them in the context of the land - Aotearoa (the stage)" - Robyn Kahukiwa 2010.
