Auckland Premier Baseball Summer Series: Round 1

2010 has arrived in style and the boys of summer are back on the diamonds for the Auckland Summer Series Premier Baseball. The crack of the wood bats is once again resonating across the ballparks of Auckland as the baseball season gets back into full swing!

The Auckland Premier Baseball season gets off to a scorcher this weekend with the top players from the Auckland competition taking to the field in the first round of the Summer Series.

The West City Wildcats Premier team, under Coach Alan Lotze, are on their way back towards the powerhouse unit which saw them take the Auckland and National titles in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and 2009.

After successfully taking out the Auckland Spring Shield their eyes are now firmly set on the Summer Series as they build towards the National Championships in February.

McLeod Park hosts the Summer Series opener, the 2008 Auckland final rematch showdow, with the West City Wildcats at home to the Angels on the McLeod Park diamond. The first pitch is set to be thrown down at 10am.
This game will be a cracker to open the season, so get there early to support your team!

McLeod Park is now an even greater place to spend a Sunday, so grab your friends and family, bring a picnic and some sunscreen, and get down to your local ballpark to check out the action.

Across town at the Lloyd Elsmore Baseball Park the HP Skyrangers begin the season with a double header taking on Cola Yeh in the 10am game, followed by their interclub rival, and Spring Shield finalist HP Cyclones.

The boys of summer are back in town!
