Riverhead Slide are favorites at blues and jazz festivals around New Zealand.
“Riverhead Slide Live at Centrestage” was released mid year 2009. A year in the making and the result is a 15 track dvd of original and blues standards. Riverhead slide will be doing a few tour dates with Tony Painting and the Power band to promote this DVD.
Tony Painting and the Power band is fronted by UK born guitarist/ vocalist Tony Painting. Tony is a well seasoned musician having supported Ozzy Osbourne. UB40 and Robert Plant amongst others including New Zealands very own, The Feelers.
The band features Tony Painting on lead guitar, Ken Green on keys and the solid rhythm section of Mark Dunasement on bass and Grant Epsolum on drums.
Tony Painting’s “Band of Gypsies” cd was originally recorded in the UK a few years ago. The album got national radio airplay and helped secure a number of festival gigs. The album has been re-released as a New Zealand release, reworked at Allegro recording studio in Howick Auckland, and will be promoted on the tour with Riverhead Slide.
