Two young Rotorua women rose to national and international prominence in 1962 and 1971 when each, as Miss New Zealand, represented their country in the Miss World competition.
Maureen Waaka (nee Kingi) and Linda Edward (nee Ritchie) played roles far beyond those of stereotypical beauty queens. Gowns, memorabilia and images tell a story of a time of exuberant fashion and high style.
