The Jonathan Grant Galleries invite you to view their Summer exhibition, on display during December 2009 and January 2010.

The exhibition includes works by Peter Beadle, Keith Money, John Yardley and Grahame Sydney.

Peter Beadle is renowned for his Otago landscapes and has recently been commissioned to paint some of the world's most prestigious golf courses, including New Zealand's finest. The present painting depicts a view of the Old Course at St. Andrews Golf Club, renowned throughout the world as the home of golf.

Throughout artistic career, Keith Money has painted a diverse range of subjects, and his equestrian paintings have always been particularly sought after. In this genre, Money's paintings are renowned for their subtle atmospheric qualities, distinctive "quietness" and their faithful rendition of equine anatomy. As well as exhibiting extensively in London and in the English provinces, Money has also exhibited in New York and Virginia.

John Yardley has an outstanding ability to capture the vitality of a scene with a few well-placed brush strokes, and has a flair for conveying movement with confident sweeps of paint. The present scene is of a group of Oxford graduates with red carnations pinned to their jackets, elated after finishing their final exams.

Born in 1948 in Dunedin, Grahame Sydney's landscapes depict the majestic environment of the Central Otago landscape. Writer Keith Stewart succinctly summarises the talent of Sydney: "He is a clever magician who plies his craft with great skill and subtlety, making works that are seemingly simple, but their plain reality tenders deeper emotions rather than simple recognition."
