DRAGON is back! The legendary New Zealand band based in Australia is performing an Auckland/North NZ tour. Fronted by NZ's own Mark Williams, who is making them his own, delivers classic DRAGON hits such as "April Sun In Cuba" and "Are You Old Enough". Since Todd Hunter reformed Dragon, audiences have packed venues to relive new music and Mark Williams' approach enveloping the audience into feeling part of the band.

In this tour DRAGON will be supported by the best in NZ music. The Earlybirds join DRAGON at the first three stops - Sale St (Weds 20th Jan), The Backyard Bar (Thurs 21st Jan) and Mangawhai Tavern (Fri 22nd Jan). The Earlybirds are five 18/19 year olds blazing out the latest in pop/rock
music with hits so far in "Runaway" and "I killed the DJ" - this is possibly legends of tomorrow playing with legends of today.

Midnight Youth are fixed to join DRAGON and The Earlybirds at The Backyard Bar. This promises to be an outstanding night of music. Midnight Youth are in full swing and are joining this tour on the back of a very successful 2009. "The Letter" was the # 1 most played New Zealand song on radio while "The Brave Don't Run" recorded in New York has received huge success since its release.

The makings of a true Kiwi .. going on family road trips, listening to the likes of Dragon, and the Exponents. "April Sun in Cuba" has to be the best road trip song ever. Only way to play it, is with the windows down, volume turned up to the max, and sitting in the back seat playing eye spy with your brothers and sisters. However seeing Dragon live.. That would be the highlight of the new year for me.

memories of singing and listening to karaoke in several pubs around Victoria, Australia when I was hanging around that scene "April Sun" and "Are you Old Enough" ... classic!

Have grown up listening to Dragon in the car as we travel around NZ. there is something special about singing along to Kiwi classics as you travel across NZ, windows down, volume up and everyone singing along. Singing along live would be a whole new level

We love Dragon, used to listen them, my boyfriend (now my husband) and I all the time. Their music was fun to dance to and just made you smile. Everyone still knows the words to their songs and they just bring back great memories. Great to see you all back together. Can't wait to see you. Cheers.

I maybe just old enough but I know my husband is old enough!! I seriously know the words to their most popular hit songs "April sun in Cuba" and "Are you old enough". Every time I hear them play, would always dance to their tunes!!

I remembered very well growing up to the Dragon.. even to these days, most of Dragon's classics would certainly still get me up on the dance floor..they are the " happy sing along songs" at any parties.. what a great memory!

I'm sure I'm 'old enough' to love Dragon - I don't want to 'Speak no Evil', but I dont need 'Rain' - I need 'Sunshine' from the 'April Sun in Cuba' to keep my 'Body in the Beat' in the 'Wilder World'...after all, this is the 'Age of Reason' and so as I relive the 'Celebration' of my 'Young Years' and the 'Promises' of 'This Time' I have to say, Dragon, I'm 'Still in Love With You'... This is not the 'Dreams of Ordinary Men', instead it is the dream of this ordinary woman to see Dragon at Northcote - they are still 'Magic', and they really 'Get that Jive' going... Go Dragon!

It is not a tale from the "dark side",when you have to ask yourself "are you old enough"to remember"any fool can tell you that"you are "running FREE" to reach the top with a little help from"white light/white heat".
It would be "some strange dream" to be able to jump on a plane to the "rain" in Auckland and feel "Iam still in love with you"[Dargon] in these by gone years as they pump out "April southern cuba" and I think I can go into my "final years"still able to "get the jive".
So please make me"cry" and I will "speak no evil",if you give this old roadie ,who work with Drogan a night to remember those "young years" again.

Dragon had come & gone before I was born. However their legacy lives on & is very strong. They should've been up there with the likes of Crowded House & Split Enz as some of our most successful bands overseas but were cruelly robbed of this chance. 'April Sun In Cuba', 'Rain', 'Are You Old Enough?', 'Young Years', 'Still In Love With You' & 'Rock 'n' Roll Ponsonby' to name a few - you can't teach that kind of music. This tour gives us all the chance to pay homage to the current line up, those that have gone, & the outstanding legend they've created. I can't wait.

rocking along to April Sun in Cuba on my tape deck, while slathering on the babyoil and sipping Miami Wine coolers - oh those were the days.....

Well to be honest i was a year old when they formed - certainly not too young to develop a good sense of music appreciation surely!!!! I would like to remind this aged brain of years of music that i missed from their early beginnings to their most recent performances. Re-education of music tastes of those precious moments that i misplaced and beside the point my partners remembers them well and really wants to go - brownie points and all!!!!!

"April Sun in Cuba" conjours up images of impromptu Backyard BBQs, cranking out the tunes and having a singalong. My fave "Are You Old Enough" memory is going to a party with the theme of Song Lyrics, dressing up as a schoolgirl and having everyone trying to work out that my song was "Are You Old Enough" - kept people guessing all night!
