With some exciting signings and the help of the ‘Yellow Fever’- some of the most passionate supporters in the league, the Phoenix will be hoping to build on the successes of the last seasons.

The Hyundai A-League is Australasia's premier domestic football competition. The league is contested by eight teams: seven covering Australia's major cities and regional centres and one from New Zealand.

The Melbourne Victory are the current champions, defeating the Adelaide United in the 2008/09 final.
