Shoe Clinic Asics 5K Series

Port Hills Athletics has run the 5K Series since 1984 and it is now one of the longest established and most popular run and walk events in Christchurch. With runs catering for everyone from top runners to recreational runners and walkers and children followed by a free BBQ for competitors and heaps of spot prizes there is a great fun atmosphere.

The Series is run over three laps of a 1.7km course in Hagley Park North with a series of five races held on Tuesday evenings in January and February each summer.
Separate races are held each evening for children under 15 years, for Athletics New Zealand registered runners and for recreational runners and walkers.

Thanks to the tremendous support that we receive from our sponsors at Shoe Clinic and Asics there is a great range of spot prizes each evening and valuable Series performance prizes for runners in the registered races.
For 2010 the dates of the Shoe Clinic Asics 5K Series are:
Tuesday 12 January
Tuesday 19 January
Tuesday 26 January
Tuesday 2 February
Tuesday 9 February
Entries are taken for the Shoe Clinic Asics 5K Series each Tuesday evening up to 15 minutes before the start of the race. There is no postal or email entry. The start times each evening for the races are:
Children 5.30pm
Registered Runners 5.45pm
Fun Run/Walk 6.15pm
