Last year, sun-drenched Waitangi Park was lined with stalls selling delicious Pacific food such as palu sami, banana poi, faausi and pisua, and great crafts such as hand-printed lavalavas, Tongan siapo and Samoan puletasis. Expect no less in 2010. This year, we'll also have an activities area opposite the stage, making it a great day for the whole family.
The festival features traditional and contemporary music from seven of our Pacific neighbours - Cook Islands, Fiji, Niue, Samoa, Tokelau, Tonga and Tuvalu. We'll also have a star act headlining that day so keep your ear to the ground for that announcement.
