The National Youth Brass Band of New Zealand tour of the South Island. Queenstown is one of the four venues for the concert tour. This year's musical director, Lt Graham Hickman FTCL, has selected the best of the best young musicians and put together a fantastic concert programme including Shostakovich's "Scherzo" from Symphony no. 10, Stravinsky's "The Firebird" and one of the greatest Brass Band compositions "Year of the Dragon" by the brilliant Philip Sparke. This year's guest soloist is Davey Boyes, a well known vituoso euphonium player and principal euphonium for a champion A grade band of New Zealand, Woolston Brass. This year's concert tour is set to be one of the best youth band concert tours on recent history,so get your tickets, spread the word and support the best youth brass and percussion musicians in the country.
