the Get It On! Big Gay Out 2010

The annual fun family picnic day will return to Coyle Park, Pt Chevalier on Valentine's Day Sunday 14 February.

Other acts on stage from 1pm until 7pm will include bands, stand-up comedians, solo artists and dance performers. Meanwhile, George FM will be hosting the dance tent, complete with elegant chandeliers, rugs and inviting beats. They'll be joined by Auckland DJs Donald Bennett and Raj.

Last year's scorching summer weather was offset by a fun Slip 'n' Slide, which will return and be hosted by Rainbow Youth this year. The Caluzzi and Urge Beer Garden will also come back, with increased capacity and shade-covered seating, while the Coyle Park Kasbah will host a range of locally produced and speciality products and food with information from community organisations and political groups.

Catch the free air-conditioned bus from Ponsonby Rd to Coyle Park to avoid the hassle of finding a car park. The Party Bus will shuttle back and forth from Ponsonby Rd to Coyle Park every 30 minutes from 11am to 8pm.

Originally started to provide a safe and supportive social environment for people of diverse sexualities and genders, their families and friends, the Get it On! Big Gay Out is sponsored by Durex in 2010 and all significant others of people of diverse sexualities and genders are encouraged to discuss safe sex with their loved ones on the day to support them to play safe!

Entry to the event is by gold coin donation with the proceeds used to cover the cost of staging the event. Volunteers ambassadors are still needed to help out for a couple of hours on the day.
