Palmerston North will commemorate the day by providing an all day live family concert and activities that will bring Te Marae O Hine The Square alive. Two stages providing a diverse mix of genres from cultural performances by Turakina Maori Girls College to live bands featuring Frankie and The Bee & The Hula Boys from Wellington, A Sir Howard Tribute by local musician Craven Noble will open the concert. There are a line up of 11 acts both new and seasoned bands. The combination will be electric as all performers on the day are headline acts. A karaoke will provide a special tribute to King of Pop and the concert will be supported by displays, arts & craft stalls, infomation booth about Te Tiriti O Waitangi. Plus there will be kai Maori, ethnic foods for sale and children's entertainment.

There will be an opportunity for the community to visit a Maori Village setup by major sponsors Te Wananga O Aotearoa. Visit promotional displays by tertary and health providers. Local businesses and agencies are supporting the day. So bring something to sit on, a picnic, wear a hat, bring an umbrella and enjoy.

Free fresh water courtesy of PNCC is provided along with sunscreen and umbrellas to use coutesy of PN Cancer Society.
