Baseball NZ National Club Championships

Baseball New Zealand, the Howick Pakuranga Baseball Club, and the Bayside Westhaven Baseball Club play host to the 2010 Baseball New Zealand National Baseball Club Championships at Lloyd Elsmore Baseball Park in Pakuranga.

The tournament will run from Friday 26th – Sunday 28th of February 2010.

The best players in each age group from clubs throughout the country converge on Lloyd Elsmore Park for the biggest date on the New Zealand baseball calendar.

Players will represent their clubs at U13, U15, U17, and Premier Open Grade levels to compete to become the best club in the country.

Games begin on Friday 26th of February and run through to the Finals Day on Sunday 28th February, with a full programme of baseball on the cards with more than 12 games a day being played!

This years 2010 New Zealand Premier Club Championships sees the 4 teams of West City, Howick, IPC, and Canterbury battle it out in a straight round robin to decide the countries best club baseball team.

The three day schedule will see each Club play off against each other to decide who will battle it out for the title on finals day on Sunday.

The four-team Premier competition will be held at Howick’s home field of Lloyd Elsmore Park with the teams playing 4 games before the winners progress to the Final.

The New Zealand National Club Championships was first contested in 2005, and remains the pinnacle event for New Zealand players with many of the players hoping to secure a place in the New Zealand team to go to the 2009 Australian Provincial Championship competition in Geelong, Vic, Australia in April.

Fans can expect the battle for club pride to be enhanced by the individual quest for National team selection in all grades.
