The Northcote Shopping Centre celebrates the Chinese & Korean New Year (‘Year of the Tiger’) with a free family celebration on Friday, 19 February from 6pm – 9pm and Saturday, 20 February 2010 from 10:00am – 2:30pm.
Northcote’s Chinese & Korean New Year Festival is a free community event of colour, culture and cuisine. It features an array of cultural performances including traditional dance, taiko drumming, spectacular martial arts and singing.
The event also features authentic Asian food stalls, an art exhibition, a host of free children’s entertainment, and special activities such as traditional Chinese fortune telling.
