Peggy Seeger is a superb songmaker and singer of Anglo-American traditional song – an outstanding multi-instrumentalist, a feminist speaker of wit and insight. She's a legend in her own time, with over 50 years of concerts, 20 solo albums, 100 joint recordings with other singers and 200 original songs, among which are Balland of Springhill and Gonna Be An Engineer. The evening will open with special guests Cairde, Nelson's popular female Celtic "group of friends". This concert is a benefit for the Nelson Women's Centre: a growth, healing and resource centre serving over 4000 women/year in the Nelson Tasman region.
