Emily and Jamie have toured all over the world delighting audiences with their imaginative mix of traditional and original songs and instrumentals. Emily has released three solo albums to date. They have been creating music together for 8 years.

Previous tours of New Zealand have seen them play nationwide at a range of theatres and festivals as well as being interviewed and performing on TV1's Good Morning Show plus appearances on National Radio and Concert FM.

They met in 2002 when Emily had recently won the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award and was putting a band together. Jamie joined initially on fiddle but over the years has become an integral part of Smith's sound playing fiddle, whistle and lead guitar on recordings and live performances as well as co-producing Emily's latest solo album 'Too Long Away'.

Emily grew up in rural Dumfriesshire in South West Scotland and moved to Glasgow in 1999 to study Scottish Music at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. Already an accomplished accordion player it wasn't until commencing her studies that she found her true passion was for song.

New Zealand born Jamie had recently moved to Scotland to further his musical career. Raised in Hamilton he had grown up immersed in NZ's folk scene and played in several bands before making the move to Scotland where he became a sought after player on the Glasgow music scene playing ceilidhs and forming the award winning four piece Quarter Mile.

On this tour Emily & Jamie will be promoting the release of their duo album of lesser known Robert Burns songs titled 'Adoon Winding Nith'.

Jamie will also be promoting his first solo album 'In Transit', a collection of self-penned tunes where he is joined by fantastic musicians Gerry Paul on guitar, Alan Doherty on flute plus great contributions from other guests on percussion, double bass, bluegrass mandolin and cello.

They have recorded sessions for several BBC Radio 2 shows and receive regular airplay on BBC Radio Scotland. They recently headlined BBC One Scotland's Hogmanay Live TV show.
