Brightwater Wine & Food Festival

If sipping on wine, sampling great food and listening to fabulous music all day in sunny Nelson sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday, Brightwater is the place to be! 5000 people agree that this charity fundraiser is worth going to.

Bring your picnic rug, sun umbrella and sun hat, and chill out on the grass or get up and dance to NZ icon Annie Crummer and band, plus The Eastern (CHCH), Chill Factor (Nelson), Lipstick (Southland), and Nelson's latest 8-piece funk band Trent del A'mour and the Subcommittee. What value!

Cooking demonstrations will be happening 3 times during the day - you can learn about, as well as sample, exquisite cuisine for your next cocktail party with Nigel Buxton, former chef and owner of an award winning Richmond cafe, as well as Horst Wellmeyer, chef and owner of the Siefried Restaurant.

Plenty of entertainment for the kids too - free face-painting, free juicie for every child at the gate, plus supervised bouncy castles, balloon fun, story-telling and music. They'll have a blast.

Directions: 20 minutes south of Nelson. Head south from Nelson and past Richmond (follow the 'Westport' signs - but you aren't going that far!) follow the signs at Brightwater. Buses are running all day - pick up a schedule at Everyman on Hardy St or go to our website for details.
