Christine Boswijk : Before Words Working on major sculptural projects over the past 8 years has led Christine Boswijk to develop her practice into uncharted territory and to a new level. For her next major installation, Boswijk will further extend her practice in exciting an innovative ways including new materials, surfaces and techniques. Referencing Rodchenko and symbols of other great traditions, Before Words, is about communicating both before and without words. Historically, before there were spoken and written languages, symbols were used to communicate thoughts and ideas. A contemporary dilemma is our lack of appreciation of non-verbal communication, the value of silence, and especially those moments of understanding, before we verbalise our thoughts.
