On the morning of 11 October 2003 Deborah Thompson was fighting for her life at Alaska Regional Hospital. She was the victim of a knife attack. While heading to work she was jumped by someone who came from behind her Jeep as she was opening the driver's door. She was stabbed eight times. She lost about one-third of her blood and needed three pints once at the hospital.
The wound near her neck partially severed her spinal cord and is the reason her left hand remains nearly useless and her left arm limp. Her left leg doesn't obey commands well either.
She uses dance and meditation as part of her therapy to keep her moving and give her the power to keep going when times get tough. Deborah is an inspiration to anyone who hears her story. Please come and join us.
