I have been trying to get my money back for being over charged for the so called "special deal" that I got for buying our tickets early which turned out to be a con as the the $15 discount took it down to the usual price of $30. So seeing as Andrew stuffed something as easy as getting the ticket price right I'm not suprised the festival was a shambles - not looking forward to the Wellington event at all!

    Hi leestevens,
On the about page if you scroll down there are email addresses there. I was told when I used my card what the balance of the card was before it was debited. Also my understanding was that the stalls allowed only 1 beer per person after 7pm and closed at 8pm. I guess there are lots of people who had different experiences.

Hi Michael, I tried that link and it defaulted back to this eventfinders page... do you have an email address? And hi StuSpence - I don't think people were having a go at the stall holders as such - but you're not helping by saying you'd gone out and paid $8 for a beer... Did you have to pay $30 to get into a barn that still smelt of horse - to queue for 1/2 an hour to get your dirty plastic cup slopped full of a beer you weren't sure you'd even like? I thought the idea of the festival was showcasing and sampling the best nz breweries have to offer... perhaps i missed the point?

Hi, I was a stall holder at this event, Sunshine Breweries ( Gisborne gold). I am concerned at the statement of Glen Smith 2 days ago
"After joining a cue where most of the people said they were ripped off by dodgy stalls double or tripple charging" We gave folks their balance when they inserted cards and again after we had finished the transaction so they knew their balances. Also Kevin Smiths '. No-one apologised or offered even one measly free beer. The beer prices were too high and cards were 'blind-debited', we were not responsible for POS Systems, times, signs or any information on the website or tickets and we all took a serious amount of abuse over alot of issues on we had no control. We were in the same situation as all you ticket holders and had paid a substantial site fee and % of our take, so it would have been to our benefit to stay longer, beerprices I thought were reasonable as we went out the 2 nights before the event and paid no less than $8 per beer anywhere, cheers

I'm not sure why I'm suprised that this is the only way to contact the Beer Festival promoters?? through an open forum??? anyway - how do we go about getting the money back that you owe us? We stupidly had money left on our cards at 7pm... thinking we still had 2 hours left... But NO!! the festival was only licenced till 7pm - so it was all over. Even though - (as above) they advertised until 9pm! Not sure how legal that is? anyone?

We have been advised by the Beer Festival promoters that a faulty batch of cards were mistakenly issued. While the faulty cards were beyond our control, I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this caused you.

While this held up the queue early on, for the rest of the day people with pre-paid tickets were able to enter much faster than those waiting in the cash sales queue.

We have contacted the Beer Festival promoters directly with your concerns, and they are more than happy to remedy any issues regarding faulty cards or the refunding of unspent Beer Dollars.

Poorly organised. Pre-buying beer dollars actually put you at a disadvantage because the system simply didn't work and you had to queue to get the money 're-assigned'. Took an hour to get my first drink. No-one apologised or offered even one measly free beer. The beer prices were too high and cards were 'blind-debited'. Poor signage and I'm beggared if I know what my $30 entrance fee covered. Won't be going again.

way too many queues, no way of telling how much is on your card, or how much they're taking out, or how much most beers cost. I thought there would be an advantage of pre-buying through event-finder and getting a smart card. i waited 45 minutes in the queue to get in, when door sales were able to go in, buy a smart card and load it up and get in after a few minutes wait. poorly organised.

Was a good day, but for something that is supposed to be finished at 9 p.m why did they stop serving at 7?? This was pretty annoying after turning up late, putting 50 dollars on the card and getting one round before been told all the stalls are closed. Im sure they guy who loaded the money on my card would of known but didnt tell me. Good guy.. Cues were over the top. Whats the story with getting money back from those cards

After joining a cue where most of the people said they were ripped off by dodgy stalls double or tripple charging we walked out never to return and certainly won't be using event finder ever again. No way were we going to top up our card which is "Blind Debited" by stall holders.

    - When purchasing the user has no proof of how much their card is being debited. A simple display for the purchaser to see the amount and a simple "OK" button to accept the charge would save a lot greif.
    - The info centre had no method of printing the transaction data of the debit cards
    - There were no sign indicating the entery or Exit from the venue.
    - The money exchange ques blocked the entrance and exits.

Total rip off - 4 of us bought $50 cards and all our money was gone from after 4 x $5 drinks each - then prospect of a one hour queue to get fixed - didn't bother and will not again

MATA MANUKA is a clean, smooth tasting golden coloured ale edged with a hint of New Zealand's native Manuka honey. MATA Manuka is a unique beer which has its own distinctive flavour. Light honey notes and a slight residual sweetness.
