House of Shem return to Whangarei to rock the Tikipunga Tavern. Guests will be announced soon.

House of Shem, formed by Ex Herbs, Mana, 12 Tribes of Israel Musician/Songwriter & New Zealand Reggae Ambassador Carl Perkins with his two Sons Isaiah & Te Omeka Perkins. House of Shem is now a Reggae Powerhouse having done nationwide tours, international tours and featured at some of Australia & New Zealand’s biggest festivals including Raggamuffin where they shared the stage with many reggae greats including Steel Pulse, Julian Marley, Maxi Priest, The Wailers, Shaggy.

The House of Shem band has seen changes to the lineup over the past two years with Lead Guitarist Roy Venkataraman (ex Wailers Guitarist) bringing his sharp licks to the table, The heavy one drop and steady pulse from Kaya Webster on Drums, lead vocal duties and keyboards by Karl Thomas, Alma Rei on bass guitar who was bassist for many of the first reggae bands from New Zealand including Chaos, Second Power and Mana, and Chris Nielson on the Saxophone.

To date they have brought you hits and even anthems from their first album with the title track “Keep Rising” a strong message for the people of NZ to unite and rise up, Lovers rock hits” Thinking about you”, “Need to know”, and spiritual songs “Jah Bless” & “Holy Mount Zion”.

House of Shem have finished their 2nd album which is to be released this summer, the album was recorded & mixed by Bob Marley’s personal recording engineer Mr Brown in New Zealand & Jamaica. Release date and album tour will be announced soon.
