Whangamata Summer Festival's Annual Craft Market Day 2010

The Whangamata Summer Festival has been hosting this event for over eleven years. It is the largest market in the region and is a myriad of sights, sounds and smells with food, drink, craft, instruments, jewellery, fun rides for the children, and much, much more. The Craft Market day is hugely popular and is a fundraiser for our week long festival 27th Dec - 2nd Jan.

The Craft Market is attended by thousands of locals and holidaymakers and is set in all three fields of Williamson Reserve, just behind the Surf Club. There is sun and shade, parking and toilets and a cafe. What more could one want?

This year we're going to hold the market over two days - 27th & 28th December with free music beginning on the 28th: 8pm - 11pm on stage in Williamson Park.

We plan to have stallholders set up for an evening market on Mon 27th Dec. The market will begin at 4pm - 8pm with gates opening at 2pm for stallholders to set up. This Night Time Market will be restricted to craft and food only. If your stall holds any imports etc, you'll need to store these and bring them out the following day.

We will hold the market as usual 9am - 4pm on Tues 28th. Stallholders arriving the night before would have the advantage of being set up and ready to go early on the 28th, and the locals who all work day hours will have the opportunity to attend the market in the evening. We're looking at having some buskers to add to the vibrant market atmosphere, and stallholders could stay the night of the 27th within their stall space and freshen up in the ocean the next morning!
