ABE's Bagels Teddy Bears Picnic

The ABE’s Bagels Teddy Bears Picnic has found a new home, and takes place at a new time of the year in 2010.

This iconic Auckland event has been entertaining families for the past 28 years, making it the longest running event of its kind in the country. After starting in Cornwall Park, and then spending over twenty years at the Auckland Domain, the Picnic settles into a new home this December at Western Springs.

There is an array of free activities this year from stage shows to strolling performers, musicians to magicians. The Westfield St Lukes Entertainment Stage will feature the likes of The Funky Monkeys, the Popsicle Band, Alan Watson the Magician and Ronald McDonald.

FairyClare is back with her flock of fairies creating a magical world for children. Kids will drift into a world of wonder with the fairies and pixies in a grotto setting amongst the Western Springs trees.

Free face painting is another popular Teddy Bears Picnic pastime with the Body FX team set to transfer kids into their favourite characters… Superheroes, butterflies and princesses. New features this year include the Hedgehog Bikes course, and the McDonald’s 20 metre inflatable football pitch.

So… pack a picnic, the whole family and your favourite bears and get set to welcome the ABE’S Bagels Teddy Bears Picnic to its new home at Western Springs.
