Beauty Queens, Prime Ministers, Maori leaders, actors, activists, and Father Christmas have joined together from their distant worlds into this exhibition Speech! Speech! - a history of New Zealand speeches, curated by Amelia Harris.
Beware! The speakers may try to sway your opinions, turn you against communism, nuclear weapons, rugby union, exalt themselves or praise others, promote obscure ideologies, or convince you that the beauties in the 1947 Miss New Zealand Competition were "just like one big happy family."
Our speakers are: Eric Platt, Michael Joseph Savage, Peter Fraser, Sir Peter Buck/Te Rangi Hiroa, Miss New Zealand 1947, Keith Holyoake, Lyndon B Johnson, Tim Shadbolt, Santa Claus 1973, Eruera Stirling, Tama Poata, David Lange, Anna Paquin, Winston Peters, Donna Awatere Huata, Richard Hohua and Helen Clark.
Free entry.
