Lake Hawea Summer Sessions

The legendary Lake Hawea New Years celebrations return for another year with the Lake Hawea Summer Sessions!

Set on the shores of Lake Hawea, just a ten minute drive from Wanaka, the Lake Hawea Summer Sessions bring you an awesome event, in some of the most beautiful surroundings in the country.

Central Otago is a mecca for summer fun, and as New Zealand decends on Central Otago over the holiday period, Lake Hawea will be preparing for one of its greatest celebrations yet.

This year we bring you a huge three day event, with big line-ups on the 30th and 31st of Dec, and 2nd of Jan.

There are plenty more events at the Motor Inn on the surrounding nights from the 29th through to the 2nd.

Camping Packages

Camping packages are only $50 and will give you a place to pitch your tent from 28th of Jan through to the 3rd of December. This year the camping packages are incredibly flexible, stay for as little or as long as you want, and only pay the simple flat rate of $50 per person. You must book online and first in first served.

Camping packages are limited, and to camp you must have a ticket to at least one night of the Summer Sessions.

Bus Passes

There will be buses running from the Wanaka Skate Park to Lake Hawea Motor Inn and return on the 30th, 31st and 2nd. Tickets are $10 each way.
