Sing Waiheke is to make its debut at the Artworks Community Theatre with "Showtime!", a concert programme of songs from the shows. Conductor Iain Tetley has taken the choir on a tangent from its usual repertoire of more serious music, and the choir has enjoyed preparing for an evening of show songs.
The evening will be cabaret style, with audience members able to enjoy a glass of wine and food around tables during the concert, followed by a supper afterwards. All food is included in the ticket price, and wine is available for purchase from the Artworks Bar. The programme will include songs from Kiss me, Kate, Fiddler on the Roof, Born to Dance, Porgy and Bess, The Mikado, West Side Story, My Fair Lady and Chicago. Tickets are available from choir members, or from Cut 'n' Curl Salon in Oneroa. For more information, ring 238-5948.
