Round 3 of The Rockstar Energy D1NZ National Drifting Championship in association with Turtlewax is coming to Auckland City! That’s right, December 17 and 18 will see the first ever full pledged night drifting Championship Round at the inaugural venue of Mt Smart Stadium.

With the Championship now meeting halfway, the gloves are off and everybody is out to get a lead on the competition. With a fresh new track that nobody has set 4 wheels on and a first entry speed of 140km while facing a concrete barrier, it’s going to be anyone’s game. The Championship will see who ends the final leg of 2010 on top and under the lights at night and all cars will be putting something special together for the crowd. This is one event definitely not to be missed!

The event will be structured over two days with the Friday being practice/D1Rookie and Saturday the main action day. There is a huge line up of extreme entertainment with the following acts confirmed:

Jagermeister brings their gnarly gig bus to Mt Smart with a huge line-up of bands and DJs which will be present onsite in its own dedicated bar and music area, so if you want to take a break out of the sun you can check out the Jagermeister area. Bands will play throughout the afternoon right up until we see some iconic NZ hip hop DJs followed by a heavy hitting line up of NZ DJs to play through the night. Yes, when the drifting has ended the party begins with a full line up on site. Tickets not only get you access to the drifting and motorsport but to a full fledged after party on site! (After party is strictly R18).

In addition to this, there will be a huge BMX dirt competition with some of New Zealand’s top riders right in front of the grandstand which means you get to watch guys back front and side flip while you enjoy intense drifting.

Spectator facilities include terraced seating, raised embankments, trade alley and the Jagermeister Gig Bus. Parking is free for spectators - all parking will be off Maurice Rd in Penrose. Mt Smart has many public transport options in close walking proximity to the venue.
