A highlight of the festive season, the APO celebrates Christmas in the splendid setting of Holy Trinity Cathedral, Parnell. Led by conductor Kenneth Young, the orchestra is joined by soprano Jenny Wollerman, the Graduate Choir, Auckland Girls’ Choir and Virtuoso Voce (Diocesan School for Girls) in a programme which reaches into the heart of Christmas, featuring well-loved music for the season and lesser-known highlights including Haydn’s Ein’ Magd, ein’ Dienerin and Vivaldi’s concerto for strings in E major Il riposo, concerto per il Santissimo Natale.
