Palmerston North is putting on yet another fantastic and exciting New Year’s Eve celebration. If you want total fun and a chance to laugh, smile, dance and sing the night away this is the place for you. Also! - Be there to win some great prizes including this year a 40” Sony Bravia LCD TV.

Your hosts for the night are from our local MoreFM afternoon show and they have some very special entertainment of their own lined up for you, never a dull moment! The night will start with lots of family fun filled entertainment, both on and off the stage. The locally acclaimed Kiwibops with their boundless energy combined with an awesome understanding of kids makes the Kiwibops a truly unique act and a wonderful performance to help us "Celebrate 2011". They are followed by another local group the Kars. The Kars is Palmerston North’s very own musical duo for kids. They formed in 2004 when floods devastated the Manawatu and have been going strong ever since. This year they are back with a live band to entertain young and old with popular songs from their debut CD.

Stage Struck Productions will again “wow" us with a singing and dancing “Soul Revue”. You can enjoy soul classics such as River Deep Mountain High, Proud Mary and Soulman. This revue will encourage you to Shake Your Tailfeather as you wait to bring In the Midnight Hour!

The latter part of the evening will kick off with Palmerston North’s Broadway babes Janine Bonny, Amy Hunt and Renee Pink bringing you Blush; this group are hitting the music entertainment scene by storm. This dynamic female trio have a lot of funk, energy and class, with music covering an extensive range of music styles of the '60s, '70s, '80s and today. Blush are followed by another local band – Smokey Feel – This band is the recent winner of Corporate Battle of the Bands 2010 and is a band that will make you move and groove with their unique sound and multi-cultural line up. This band of brothers includes Kane Parsons, Jerome Leota, Jamie McCaskill, and Tony Wyeth.

It's not finished yet, still to come is Shaun Preston, NZ’s No 1 piano showman. He has performed at many major events and played in front of many well known names including Prince William. Sit back and let Shaun take you through the sound track of your lives with big hits from '70s '80s '90s and today, belting out music from Elton John, Rolling Stones, Maroon 5, Matchbox 20, Billy Joel, Scissor Sisters, Rod Stewart, Phil Collins and many more. This is the story of a boy and his piano… Not to be missed.

Last but certainly not least, the 1980s, fully costumed and choreographed all the way from Wellington are That 80's Band, a high-energy fun show. Back by popular demand to take Palmy for a journey of rock and pop nostalgia through the '80s. Remember Duran Duran, Wham, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams and Culture Club! The clothes, the songs, the shoes and oh… The hair – Come and see for yourself!

Please remember that this event is for all the family and is alcohol free. There will be a 'chair free zone' in place for those who get there early and just want to hang out on a blanket.

Look forward to seeing you in Palmerston North this New Year - "Celebrate 2011 - Stars In the Square".
