This group exhibition features Manurewa artists, with the selection designed to highlight the incredible variety of talent among visual artists who in some way, linked by their work or their home, are part of the Manurewa community. Some of the artists were born in other parts of the world and some have generational family ties linking to Manurewa.

Whether tangata whenua or migrant and everywhere in between, regardless of their origins, many disparate threads of creativity come together and contribute to the richness of Manurewa art.

The amazing attention to detail and finish demonstrated in Louis Thomsen’s garments, the giant cut-outs of Richard Cooper or the delicate tracery seen in Toni Mosley’s prints, Terry Klavenes playing with light through photography or his acrylic sculptural work, Steve Foggo’s awe inspiring landscape photography, Donna Tupaea’s textured colours and Natalie Hunt’s jewellery and Christian Hunt’s sculptures, this selection of work will amaze with its depth and variety.

Although closed over the Christmas New Year break the exhibition will resume through the summer holidays, closing 24 January

Exhibition: 10 – 24 December and 5 – 23 January
Gallery hours: Mon – Friday 9am – 5pm, Weekends 1pm – 4pm
