The East Coast Festival is launching in Gisborne this coming summer and looking to create a seafood and beer festival in Gisborne to be staged annually in the end-less East Coast summer days. This year the East Coast Seafood & Beer Festival will be staged on the 29th & 30th December 2010 at Te Poho-o-Rawiri Marae – a centrally located venue 5 minutes walk from the Gisborne wharf café & bar scene and ten minutes walk from town. The Gates will open both days at 12noon with an array of cold amber fluids available together with a truly East Coast flavoured seafood menu.

At present there is no local seafood and beer festival in Gisborne at any period of the year so why not start one we said – so here we are. With the Rhythm & Vine Festival and the BW campground activity over the same period The East Coast Festival will offer a two day Coast flavoured event with fresh local seafood, all served with the local delicacy – chips & bread, and the world famous “get some coast in ya” sauce. This menu will be served with 50 carefully tested, carefully chosen cold amber fluids to sustain everyone across the two days that will make for a truly entertaining Festival.

Together with the sunshine, beer, and seafood we are profiling 8 East Coast bands across the two afternoons The East Coast Festival is looking to promote the local music scene and linking with bands such as Tetra Salute, The Nervous Surgeons, Sons of iO, The Ashes, Zero T, MIT, and noted local musicians Dion Whaanga the Festival will offer a wide range of music genres for all punters.

The East Coast Seafood & Beer Festival details:
