Discover the attraction of faces… See yourself in ways you’d never imagine! Snap yourself at a YourFace photo booth and see your face be aged, merged and ‘beautified’! Along the way, encounter hundreds of faces from the Museum’s collection. Open your eyes to the fabulous world of faces!
Would you be more handsome with symmetrical features? How will you look through the years to 72? Does your face merged with your friends make for a vision of beauty? Find out all this and more in Your Face Here, the Otago Museum’s newest exhibition. Join in as we turn the spotlight on your most recognisable feature – viewed through culture, nature, science and art!
Take a snapshot of yourself at the YourFace photo booth as you arrive – then discover the secrets within! Project your face through the years at the ‘Age Your Face’ station, discover what you’d look like with a completely symmetrical face, and then merge your looks with others – your partner, your family, your friends or even a beautiful stranger! Then watch as your face becomes a feature of the exhibition itself!
You won’t want to miss the hundreds of faces from the Museum’s collection which also feature. Your Face Here includes marvellous masks from across the globe, and a myriad of faces used for status and decoration throughout the past and present. You’ll get close up with faces from the natural world – and even encounter animals with no face at all! Delve into identity, beauty, psychology, art and science – all blended together to create the must-see exhibition of the summer!
Visit Your Face Here this summer to open your eyes to the attraction of faces!
