Sleeping Dogs' Myth Reducer Album Release Party

Sleeping Dogs reduce the myth behind their much anticipated album.

Unlike the idiom, these Sleeping Dogs are wide awake and ready to be unleashed onto The Bedford’s stage to ruffle up calm waters with the launch of their album, "Myth Reducer", at their release party.

Sleeping Dogs, a group of four misfits with eclectic musical backgrounds, is the Frankenstein’s Monster of Thomas Reid, a classically trained pianist, mad Bowie enthusiast and singer/songwriter of the band. Collaboration with experienced bass player and arranger, Rocky, innovative drummer and video director, Rick Harvie and the guitar expertise of Ace Palenski, provides a strong line up.

Thomas Reid, the driving force and inspiration behind the project, says Sleeping Dogs songs have been described as “unavoidable, deep and unapologetic” and their sound and style has been likened to Muse, Queen, Ozzy Osbourne and even My Chemical Romance. The music is “extravagant, big and epic with over-the-top songs and long, long instrumental parts”. For fans and music lovers the album and release party will deliver a performance that harks back to the hedonistic tradition of '70s British rock anthems that are theatrical, reflective and gritty.

The album has been nearly 2 years in the making and Reid says of recording the album in the UK earlier this year that, with producer Greg Haver, mixing guru Clint Murphy and session string group, the Vulcan String Quartet, “everyone worked their magic and the results exceeded my expectations”.

Sleeping Dogs invites you to celebrate the album release party, an evening of live performance from this soon to be super group, with support from Reb Fountain. Everyone who arrives in the first hour will also receive their own copy of “Myth Reducer” for the entry price of $15. Come on down for an epic night and let the music speak for itself…
