What Noisy Cats play their own brand of indie/folk/country influenced songs, with a decent dose of rock thrown in for good measure. Their songs, which are influenced by the likes of Neil Young, Bright Eyes, Ryan Adams and Wilco are often uplifting, yet with shades of darkness to them. Having only formed earlier this year, What Noisy Cats have been hard at work on a set of songs, five of which have been recorded for their first EP, and it is with much excitement they will be playing these songs live for the first time at this gig, which doubles as both an EP release and their debut live performance.
Each of the band members (Luke Marlow - vocals, guitar; Vincent Waide - bass, vocals; Thomas McArthur - guitar, keys; and Patrick Whatman - drums) bring their own style to the band, which has been incremental in developing the songs to where they now are. They are all experienced musicians who have been involved in the local music scene for a while, having played in local bands Rico Suavé, Tommy and the Fallen Horses and The Actualities.
They will be joined by “The Owl, The Pussycat and Me”, who will open the show with their alt-country stylings.
The show kicks off at 7pm, so get there early, get a seat and some dinner and enjoy an evening of good music. The EP will be on sale for $10.
