Sponsored by Sunday Star-Times in association with Phonak NZ Ltd, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) present a spectacular, romantic concert of the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington.
Conductor: Martin Yates
Guest soloists: Andrew Halliday and Jacqui Scott
The World of Rodgers and Hammerstein is a spectacular, romantic concert containing more than twenty of their wonderful songs.
Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein were the most popular writers of their day. From 1941 to 1959 they wrote five of the most successful musicals ever produced – Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King & I and The Sound of Music. Had their collaboration produced only one of these they would still have been celebrated as the most successful creators of musical theatre the world has known.
This concert features two West End soloists and contains all the most famous songs from these great enduring musicals as well as four masterful orchestral pieces.
Tickets will be available from Ticketek.
