Nikolai Kokx is showing a suite of 13 photographs titled Dwelling, courtesy of McNamara Gallery Photography. Mahara Director Janet Bayly says ‘The home as a dwelling place for people somehow connected to one another conveys personal values, histories and relationships as well as daily routines. It is a place for renewal, retreat and dreaming.’ Nikolai says ‘A photographic portrait taken in the home is about self-preservation, the physical testament to an individual's tentative existence – a life lived.’

The opening event for all four shows is Saturday 28 August at 5pm, which will include a short art performance by Anna-Marie O’Brien. All are welcome and entry is free.

Gallerist Mary-Jane Duffy will introduce Anna-Marie O’Brien and Gary Freemantle’s shows and Mahara Gallery Director Janet Bayly will introduce Gerald Barnett and Nikolai Kokx’s shows. All the artists will be attending the exhibition opening.
