Proudly brought to you by Abbey Musical Theatre and Palmerston North's Regent on Broadway, Jesus Christ Superstar is Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's most beloved musical. It highlights political and interpersonal struggles between Judas Iscariot and Jesus. The musical is based on St John's Gospel account of the last week of Jesus' life, beginning with the preparation for Jesus' and his disciples arrival in Jerusalem and ending with the Crucifixion.
Jesus Christ Superstar is directed by outstanding Manawatu director Steven Sayer, with musical direction by Barry Jones and choreography by Val Bolter. The show features a stunning local cast of more than 50 performers onstage, accompanied by a 20 piece orchestra.
