Friendly Dental Ironkids Duathlon Series

The Friendly Dental Ironkids Duathlon Series is on again this year.

This series has been going for quite a few years now and proves to be a popular one for families. The races are held in August, September and October each year.

Distances:
• 8-10 Year Olds
1km Run
2km Cycle
1km Run

• 11-13 Year Olds
2km Run
4km Cycle
2km Run

The first two races are held in the car park behind the Ocean Spa Pool complex in Marine Parade. The run and cycle are both held on the Marine Parade walkway so there is no worries about cars and vehicles. We do, however, recommend that your child is able to ride their bike in a straight line and understands the keep left rules.

The final race is held in conjunction with the William's Harvey Charity Corporate Duathlon at Frimley Park situated in Frimley Road Hastings. You can get to this park via Lyndhurst Road. We will ensure that the course is as safe as possible for your child by creating a fun course within the park to avoid traffic.

We do ask that you pre-enter this event for a quicker registration process and also to ensure that we start on time.

Entry Options:
You have the option of downloading entry forms and posting them in with a cheque (Make sure you put an e-mail address so we can e-mail you all the maps and confirmation of your entry) but an even better idea is to enter events online through this website. That way you get immediate confirmation that you are entered and you know you are in the correct race or category and also you don't have to worry about stamps and envelopes all all that stuff?

Registration starts at 8am in the carpark behind the Ocean Spa Pool complete for race one and two. All you have to do is turn up and say your name and we will give you a race number and pins. If you have not already entered still come at 8am but you will need to fill in a late entry form and pay an extra $5 for entering late.

Please Note: Registration for the third race which is held in conjunction with the Williams' Harvey Charity Corporate Duathlon will be open from 7.30am. You will be posted out your race number and pins for this final race before race day but we will still take late entries on the day. You would only need to go to registration on race morning to make any team changes, or to late register.

This event is open to individuals and teams. The price is the same for both so if you enter as an individual it will cost you $15 and if you enter as a 2 or 3 person team it is still only a total of $15. Isn't that amazing value and well worth the effort?

This event is open to children from 8 years to 13 years. If your 7 year old is absolutely itching to have a go then contact us to discuss this. We do realise that there are some 7 year olds that are very confident on bikes so obviously we will do whatever we can to make their dreams come true. Please do not ask for your 6 year old or for a younger child as we do have safety for all as our main priority.

The categories for this series is 8-10 year olds and then 11-13 year olds. If your child is in a team of children with a mixture of these ages you must go up to the older age group (ie: 11-13 year old team)

The race starts at 9am and about ten minutes before that time we will get all the kids together and make sure they fully understand how the event works and explain everything to them. Once we are satisfied that everyone is happy and understands what they are doing we will start the race.

Please Note: Race three (combined with the Williams' Harvey Charity Corporate Duathlon) will start at 8.30am.
