Drawing on her vast experience, including 25 years at Te Papa, Valerie Carson will share conservation techniques for costumes and textiles in museum collections. There will also be an opportunity to see a few relevant pieces from the TheNewDowse collection. Valerie will include techniques that could be used around the home in caring for, and storing, clothing and textiles. She will also be happy to identify textiles you may wish to bring on the day.
