An installation by Janine Randerson
with sound composition by Jason Johnston

The mediation between science and society requires intelligence, tolerance, humour, inventiveness and even bravery and it is encouraging to discover artists who are eager to take on this responsibility and in so doing, maintain a balance between demystification and sharp questioning.

Climate change has altered the balance of the weather, seasonal food sources for creatures of the sea and the planet and migratory paths that are guided by seasonal change.

Janine Randerson investigates the effects of global warming by piecing together meteorological satellite footage and selected film from ecological conservation enthusiasts from YouTube on the internet; Footage that reveals how the seasons’ changes have put animals’ migratory and breeding patterns out of kilter.
The resulting cascade of effects of global-warming upon the eco- system are played out in Randerson’s art work brings our close attention to the earth’s status and leaving us with evidence, and, ultimately leaving us with the challenge of action.
