Christchurch's own unique sound and soul of D'sendantz comes from its roots reggae influence, original songs penned and performed by the smooth vocal style of Jerry Taukamo, accompanied by Marcel Bramao on sax and gat and the tight rhythm and skankin' section of Rob Payne on keys, Pos Mavaega on bass and Jason (JJ) Otene on drums.

Jerry Taukamo
Jerry was a foundation member of Katchafire, touring with them over the two year period to Hawaii. Hailing from Gisborne via Hamilton Jerry finds himself in Christchurch recording and writing music and songs for D'sendantz. Spotted by JJ not long after his arrival in Christchurch in 2008, Jerry was soon a member of cover band Kharamello and Funkdefyed.

Jason (JJ) Otene
JJ's tight rhythm patterns and high jinx tricks on the skins and on the sticks is an integral part of his playing persona. His involvement in church gospel groups 'The Promisekeepers' and 'Certain Sounz' gave him national and international touring experience. JJ is a member of PU's show Drum5, creator of the show 'Ladies First' and founding member of groups Kharamello and Funkdefyed.

Rob Payne
As well as an excellent keyboard player Rob is also an accomplished jazz guitarist having trained at the CPIT Jazz School. Rob plays at Sammy's Jazz Review and the Christchurch Casino with duo group Poco, has played in the 'Ladies First' show and Funkdefyed. When Rob's not entertaining the masses he is manager for music store Canterbury Music Planet.

Marcel Bramao - guitar / vocals / sax
Marcel adds his strong vocal ability alongside his skill as a guitarist and saxophonist. Making top 12 in NZ Idol of 2005, Marcel was known as 'the package' with his confidence, talent and good looks. Marcel has since played in bands such as Just the 2 Of Us, Kharamello and Funkdefyed.

Pos Mavaega - bass guitar
Pos creates shows and events with Pacific Underground, his latest ones being PU Soul Me and Drum 5. His many years in the industry has led him to work collaboratively with artists such as Scribe, Ladi 6, Fat Freddy's Drop, Che Fu, King Kapisi and Oscar Kightley. Pos, an accomplished guitarist lends his talent to the tight rhythym section on bass. Pos also plays guitar for LA Mitchell and the Nativa Band.
