Violinist Feng Ning is the winner of dozens of prestigious prizes including the Premio Paganini Violin Competion in Italy (2006) and the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in New Zealand (2005). After a master class with Lord Menhuin, he was immediately invited to play in Germany at one of the last concerts organised by the great maestro. He received the only perfect final exam score (100%) in the 200-year history of the Royal Academy of Music, London, and was made an associate of the Academy upon graduation. Since winning the Paganini, he has been in heavy demand, performing in Europe, the US and throughout Asia.
Feng Ning appears by kind permission of the Auckland Philharmonia, Christchurch Symphony, and Vector Wellington Orchestra.
Dean Sky-Lucas graduated from the University of Newcastle Conservatorium of Music, NSW, studying with Michael Duddmann (organ) and Professor Robert Constable (piano). Since graduation Dean has been the accompanist to the wind and opera departments of the VCA (Melbourne) and for four years was an associate artist with the Australian National Academy of Music. Dean departed ANAM to pursue further studies in speech pathology at Latrobe University, placing him at the forefront of vocal performance from a biomedical perspective.
Dean has performed harpsichord, celeste, piano and organ with the MSO, OV and TSO, and regularly tours New Zealand, Australia and internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. Following 15 years in Melbourne, Dean has recently accepted the position of Lecturer and Head of Collaborative Piano at The University of Auckland.
