Offroad Racing at Whitianga Festival of Speed

The 2010 Asset Finance New Zealand Offroad Racing Championship kicks off at the Whitianga Festival of Speed, April 10 and 11.

The fastest offroad race teams in the North Island (and thus probably New Zealand) go head to head in spectacular short course and enduro racing at this amazing petrolhead event.

This year there's a unique chance to be part of the action: with the very kind support of TradeMe, Champion Rides is auctioning a chance to sit alongside an offroad racing champion driver in a mighty Nissan Navara V8 unlimited-class truck. In an actual championship race.

Nobody ever gets a ride like this, and it's all for such a good cause!

Bid and win at www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Lifestyle/Other/auction-276932583.htm and you sit alongside champion offroad race driver Gary Baker in his unlimited-class V8 race truck capable of 225 km/h, best bring a spare pair of y-fronts then. Oh and if this isn't quite your thing, hey what a present to give your partner or parent.

Champion Rides is fundraising for Camp Quality (www.campquality.co.nz). This is an officially supported Camp Quality Fundraiser, and every cent of the winning bid goes to Camp Quality to help kids living with cancer. You get a team t shirt, souvenir photo, and a unique chance to sit in on an actual championship race!

Usual disclaimer regarding: your health and ability to get into and out of the vehicle and of course your age - we can't take minors out into racing conditions but will arrange multiple demo laps if you are under 16 and win the auction.

Note the reference to "free event" applies to the successful bidder on the race ride auction. Other admission fees beyond our control may be stuck on by other mean spirited organisations but we'll squeeze them like lemons to avoid that if we can.
