Heart Soul Meditation with Indian yoga & meditation teacher Tarun Kumar. He will also guide students through a special Sun Salutation class where the salutations are exercised to mantras (sounds). Tarun uses 3D animated movies to show the “complete human being” in his heart soul meditation class, including the subtle bodies and energy centres. The class also covers the uses of meditation, why and how it works; meditation in yoga and Mahasiddha tradition; pranayama (breathing excercises); as well as the practical 24-minute meditation.
Salutes to the Sun - to be held before the meditation class - are one of the best known and essential parts of Hatha Yoga and practised daily in millions of homes around the world. The speciality of this class though, is that the Salutes are executed with sounds (mantras) that belong to each related posture.
Tarun Kumar will be in the Mandala Room, Old Library, Whangarei on Friday, April 23rd from 6pm-7.15 (Surya Namaskara Mantras) and from 7.30-9.30pm (Heart and Soul Meditation). Entry is by donation.
