The 2010 NZ International Comedy Festival and BATS theatre present the première of ‘The Glorious Sky Awesomes’.

A secret history of the space race.

Lead Hat are Paul Glubb and Nic Gorman. What do you know about the space race? Very much? Well keep it to yourself. In this 50 minute 'amazing spectacle' the truth will finally be rewritten and the story of the first humans in space given a fitting tribute using rented costumes and lifelike wigs in this original New Zealand play.

See the birth of the spacerace, right before your eyes. Set between the thighs of Capitalism and Communism; ‘The Glorious Sky Awesomes’ is a crowning achievement!

Following hot on the heels of their Two Day Play competition win for ‘Best Script’, LeadHat present their maiden voyage of entertainment. Rigorously researched on an Amiga 500 and Reader’s Wives magazines, LeadHat have finally rewritten history and proudly present the truth to you about this famous event.

Originally hailing from the same city as ‘racism’ and the methadone capital of the South Island, LeadHat are Paul Glubb and Nic Gorman, two ‘well-known comedians’, writers and improvisers.

Between them Nic and Paul have performed as Santa in a mall, Bumble the Educational Bee, the Warriors’ mascot, oversized cell-phones, Todd Blackadder, Ophelia Balls, Indians who tried to rob the Tranz Alpine, and two plucky Nazis who managed to capture Anne Frank.

‘The Glorious Sky Awesomes’ plays at BATS theatre for 5 nights only - Tuesday April 27 to Saturday the 1st of May at 9.30pm.
