Comrades! The Auckland uprising looks to be a complete success having monopolized the ASB Theatre for the Crunchie Comedy Gala® and selling the venue out. But now we’re calling upon Wellington comedy factions for your response.
First Laughs marks the first night of the 2010 International Comedy Festival in New Zealand’s capital, the home of the country’s governing bodies. First Laughs isn’t a political party – it’s the party to kick start a season of laughs from acclaimed international and local comedic talents.
Hosted by 7 Days/@Seven hooligan Ben Hurley (NZ), the likes of Dai Henwood, Steve Wrigley and last year’s Billy T winner Chris Brain are just a few of the New Zealand comedians embarking down New Zealand to rally a local revolution.
Meanwhile, compatriots from around the world lend their support in this comedy alliance against mundane life – with ex-pat Jarred Christmas (NZ/UK) and Zoe Lyons (UK) returning after their reconnaissance work during the Christmas Comedy Convoy, bringing with them a International Comedy Festival favourite, Mr. Jason Cook (UK).
With the Crunchie Comedy Gala ® selling out in Auckland in record time this year, don’t be surprised that the Wellington uprising doesn’t follow suit and sells out The Opera House; so book now to avoid utter and complete disappointment.
