Cameron's Capital Showdown: POSTPONED

Knockout Boxing and Hutt Boyz Choppers regrets to advise that Shane Cameron’s April 24th Fight in Wellington, is to be postponed until further notice.

Cameron’s original opponent Michael Kirby, had to withdraw from the fight on Sunday April 10, due to a serious eye injury (detached retina) sustained during training. Since then Cameron’s Manager has been looking for a late replacement and had hoped to replace Kirby with Israel Garcia, who was also unavailable due to cuts received in his last fight.

After discussing this with Shane, we have decided to reschedule the fight to a later date. At such late notice, it is very difficult to find a quality opponent that will match up against Shane. Both Shane and I agree his fans deserve and want to see him in the ring against a quality opponent, rather than take a lesser opponent on short notice. This was to be a Sky TV Pay Per View event and we don’t want his fans and sponsors feeling short changed.

At this stage a new date and venue are yet to be set. All tickets and table sales will be fully refunded and we apologise for any inconvenience. This is frustrating for all concerned especially Shane who has been training the house down.
