Behaviour’s of the Backpacker is a black comedy fairy-tale documentary which records the stories of backpackers from around the world, organic farmers, hostel owners, tour operators and Maori, all walking backwards to find their way home. More than a story about 'backpacking', Behaviours is a film about exile, whether that be from the land of retail therapy, multi-tasking and viral marketing, from the bloodshed in the land of milk and honey, or from an ancestral home of sixteen generations.
Kaikohe Demolition, on the other hand, celebrates those making a life in small-town New Zealand. Not going anywhere, these characters share their lives, loves and laughter as they gear up for their frequent local car smashing events, the Demolition Derby, which seem to coincide with ever festive date on the calendar, including Mother’s Day.
